Have you heard of the Single Digital Gateway Regulation (SDGR)? What is it, and what impact will it have on your local government? Read all about it in this blog!
Single Digital Gateway Regulation (SDGR)
The Single Digital Gateway Regulation (SDGR) requires all local governments to make sure products and services are available online in English from 12 December 2022.
The regulation stipulates that the information obligation is about products and services within 17 information domains.
The idea is that citizens can find all procedures and information through the digital gateway 'Your Europe'.
Impact
Phase 1: deadline 12/12/2022
In the first phase, Agentschap Binnenlands Bestuur (ABB) of the Flemish government asks each local government to translate a limited number of products. You can find the overview on the above website under "17 information domains". As a local authority, you will have to log into your IPDC account for this and make the necessary adjustments there (in a new module they call LPDC).
The deadline to publish the adaptations to Europe is 12 December 2022.
The Flemish government will forward the information to Europe based on your translation in IPDC/LPDC.
- They will soon let you know when these adjustments can be made.
- For now, no adjustments need to be made to your Paddle website.
Attention!
- If you modify product pages in your Paddle website, this may entail changing both the Dutch and English versions at IPDC.
- Suppose you are using a supplier's own LPDC (beware because Agentschap Binnenlands Bestuur also calls their own tool LPDC). In that case, you should check with your supplier whether your local adaptations have also been forwarded to Agentschap Binnenlands Bestuur and whether the translations are still being carried out.
Phase 2: early 2023
We have not yet received any information on how the English-language product pages should be included in the website in future and how to deal with translated pages versus other product pages that are not translated. And whether opening hours and contact details should also be solved. We will update you as
As soon as we receive more information. We will continue to add to the blog as comprehensive and new information becomes available.
