Ertico – ITS Europe is a public-private partnership that has played a central role in developing smart mobility solutions in Europe for over 30 years. With more than 120 partners — including public authorities, research institutions, and companies — Ertico actively drives innovation in connected and automated driving, urban mobility, transport and logistics, and mobility as a service (MaaS).

Ertico’s existing website no longer reflected its strategic role as a mobility thought leader. It had grown organically over the years, resulting in a fragmented structure, outdated design, and limited flexibility. At the same time, Ertico needed a modern platform that could handle their broad scope of activities and scale over time — including the launch of new subsites like the one for Moonshot.

Fast, future-proof and accessible

By building on the already available and proven Paddle CMS platform, Ertico was able to move forward quickly. The CMS offered a robust foundation with pre-configured modules, allowing for a faster launch without compromising on custom needs.

During the discovery phase, Paddle.be worked closely with the Ertico team to define a new structure through internal interviews and a cardsort session. This collaborative approach laid the foundation for a clear and scalable information architecture, fully aligned with Ertico’s evolving content.

The visual design, created by Ertico’s long-time partner Landmarks, was integrated into Paddle’s flexible CMS system, ensuring consistency and ease of content management.

While Paddle handled the technical setup and CMS configuration, the Ertico team took the lead in content creation, building out the core of the site based on a structure and templates provided by Paddle. In total, more than 270 pages were structured, built and styled.

We also supported ERTICO with targeted training and practical CMS tips to help their team work independently — while remaining available for support whenever needed.

The result? A site that is user-friendly, accessible, and easy to update — with powerful features like:

A project database and event calendar
A dynamic homepage banner
Integrated Mailchimp subscription forms
Filtered search functionality
Export to PDF and external event programme modules
A built-in subsite module, already used for Moonshot
