Communicating a new intranet within your organisation: how do you do that? We give you seven tips on how to get your colleagues involved and interact.
Seven tips
-
Hang up announcements, in the corridor, by the coffee machine, on mirrors or flat screens. As long as it is visible. You can play videos about the intranet, give short tips, and give positive testimonies of employees about how they experienced the new intranet, etc. ;
-
Is there a staff magazine or an internal newsletter? Make sure that it pays attention to the intranet. You can devote an article to it or let a staff member speak for himself;
-
Organise short training sessions, for example, during the lunch break, to demonstrate the platform and new features;
-
Remind colleagues and promote the intranet internally, when they share ideas or ask each other questions face-to-face or in e-mails, that they should do it on the intranet so that more people can think along;
-
Appoint a community manager. Post regular updates yourself;
-
Celebrate the new intranet creatively. Bake a cake, for example. Create a moment with colleagues to discuss the new intranet and its purpose;
-
Make sure the intranet is visible. For example, set the intranet as the browser's start page so that employees see the intranet and new updates regularly.
